Fire Cooking· BUYING GUIDE
Which size OFYR?
75, 85, 100 or 120 — and the difference between Classic, Storage, Island and PRO.
OFYR sizes are the diameter of the cooking unit in centimetres. The bigger the unit, the wider the cooking ring around the fire — so the more you can cook at once, and the more people can comfortably stand round it.

OFYR 75
The most compact OFYR, and the one we chose for every lodge at Waresley. It suits a terrace or a smaller garden and cooks comfortably for a family or a few friends. If space is tight, or you mostly cook for four to six, start here.
OFYR 85
The classic family size and the one that fits most gardens. An evening of cooking on an 85 uses roughly a bag and a half of dry beech — the OFYR wood bag holds about 72 litres.
OFYR 100
Noticeably more ring than the 85, for households that entertain and want room for several things cooking at once. An evening uses about two bags of wood. The 100 is the only size available in the PRO versions with a handle and wheels.
OFYR 120 PRO+
Developed for professional use: a 120 cm ring that can serve up to 100 people, with a handle and wheels. For events, a pub or restaurant garden, or a house that cooks for a crowd. Above this sit the XL and the Trailer, which cook for up to 150.

Classic, Storage, Island or PRO?
Once you've picked a diameter, the version decides what sits underneath it.
- Classic is the original: cone, fire, ring, nothing else.
- Classic Storage adds a wood store in the base, so the evening's logs sit dry under the ring instead of in a pile on the terrace.
- Island joins the cooking unit to a prep counter with a chopping board, an accessories tray and wood storage — an outdoor kitchen in one piece.
- PRO versions add a teak handle and wheels so one person can move the unit. Because the handle is teak, OFYR advise keeping PROs under cover when they aren't in use.
Corten or black?
Corten steel weathers to a rust-brown patina and is meant to live outside untreated — it's the finish you'll recognise. Black is the same unit in a black coating, for gardens where the rust tone doesn't suit.
If you're between two sizes
Go up rather than down. Nobody has ever told us their OFYR was too big, and the extra ring is what you notice when there are more people than you planned for.
Unsure? Ring the estate on 01223 491396, or come and see them — the 75s outside the lodges are lit most weekends.
