THE STORY
Two summers in the ground. The first harvest. One hundred bottles.
The vineyard went into the south-facing slope behind the lake in the spring of 2023 — well-draining sand on the Greensands Ridge. Four varieties: Bacchus on rows 1 to 19, then Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier & Pinot Noir Précoce filling out the rest.
Two quiet summers followed. The first picking came on the 8th of September 2025 - a hundred and fifty kilos of Bacchus, hand-picked into shallow crates and sorted the same afternoon.
The Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier came in later. They're now bottled and resting on their lees - our first sparkling, a traditional-method blend, due in 2027.
From the Bacchus, one hundred bottles. We've called it The Hundred.

TASTING NOTES
Peach and garden mint.
A bright, dry, distinctly English white. The sand we grew it on gives it a softness that Bacchus doesn't always have — and a finish that tastes of a summer kitchen garden.
On the nose
Garden mint, white peach, a touch of meadow flower.
On the palate
Stone fruit and ripe pear, mint lifting through the middle.
The finish
Dry, fresh, herbal - a kitchen garden in a glass.
Best with fresh goat's cheese, garden peas, asparagus, or grilled white fish with herbs. Serve cold - six to eight degrees.

THE 2025 VINTAGE
The first vintage. A small one. A true one.
We picked the Bacchus on the 8th of September 2025 - by hand, into shallow crates, sorted the same afternoon. A hundred and fifty kilos of fruit. Pressed gently to keep every aromatic, fermented in stainless steel at low temperature, then rested on its lees through the spring.
It's a small vintage. We're proud of it.
The numbers
QUESTIONS
The practical bits.
Why only 100 bottles?
The vines are young - planted in 2023, picked for the first time in 2025. A hundred and fifty kilos of Bacchus came off rows 1 to 19 on the 8th of September. We considered blending with bought-in fruit to push the numbers up. We decided not to. Every bottle of The Hundred is from one vineyard, one block, one harvest.
Why is it £100 a bottle?
The price covers the bottle, a bespoke wooden case, Wine Club membership, and a place at the Harvest BBQ 2026. The £100 is the full package, not the wine in isolation.
Why a two-bottle limit?
So as many people as possible get to taste the first vintage and join the Wine Club. We want this to be the start of a long story with our customers, not a sell-out to a handful of collectors.
When will my bottle arrive?
Bottles ship in August 2026 once the wine has had its final months in bottle. You'll get an email confirmation on order, and dispatch tracking when it leaves us.
Can I cellar it?
It's drinking beautifully now and will hold for two to three years in a cool, dark place. Bacchus isn't a long-cellar wine - it's at its brightest in the first three years. Don't keep it for the grandchildren.
What about the other grapes - when does the sparkling come out?
The 2025 Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier are already bottled and resting on their lees - our first traditional-method sparkling. We expect to disgorge in 2027. Wine Club members hear first, with a guaranteed allocation. Buying The Hundred is how you get in line.
Is it a gift?
It can be. Add a note at checkout and we'll write it on the wooden case insert. The Wine Club membership transfers to the recipient on their first event.
What about age verification?
You must be 18 or over to order. Age verification on delivery - please make sure someone is in to receive the parcel.
When's the next Bacchus?
2026 fruit comes off the vines this September. We'll know in spring 2027 what the harvest gave us. Wine Club members hear first.
